Whirrr

“Oh my gosh.”

Such was the thought occupying the brains of all of us counsellors today.  Not only were the kids yelling like mad, they were going WHACK.  Quite honestly, they were going insane.  They wouldn’t be quiet and so we had to come up with like seven different ways to get them to pay attention.  I almost lost my voice today and I drank about ten cups of water (I’m not even exaggerating here) to make sure that I didn’t lose my voice.

On the plus side, things went a lot smoother and we actually had choreography to get through in Musical Theatre and we’re really improving.  It’s really fun and I’m so glad that we actually got through something - anything at all.  We actually did something!  Yay!

So that’s my summer so far.  That, and the fact that I’m looking for another part time job for the evenings and weekends.  Seriously.

dance take one

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”

Such was the sound (high pitched, mind you) that I heard most of today.  These kids are ridiculously energetic and they keep my energy up but it’s tiring to keep up with them sometimes.  The first day of camp went ridiculously well for the first day EVER of a camp, but it could have been a lot better.  For example, we could have known what we were doing for the last three hours of camp instead of going insane and being really confused.  Like being more prepared, I guess.  No more games - I’m done with games GAH they’re so annoying now.  Anyway, we have to play interactive acting games in musical theatre, which is easy enough.  Play drama games!  For partnering though…I mean, what can you really do?  Work together I guess, but what kind of partnering is there really to do with eight year olds?  High fives?  Scoop claps in different directions?  Body waving in different directions?  I mean come on, puhleaseeeee.

I never thought I’d end up here

“Okay.”

Wow.  I never thought last year that I’d end up going to a grade party - being allowed to actually go over to someone’s house to chill.  With the rest of your grade.  Or like half of it.

It’s pretty impressive, and it was quite fun, dress shopping and all.  It’s dressy casual, right?  Okay, good.  There was apparently no dress code except for “no sweatpants please”.  I’m quite impressed.

On another note, if my TEDDY BEAR *COUGH EHEM COUGH* is around, please give me a call.  Love you!

lasagna spaghetti

“That’s an unreasonable portion size.  Even for you.”

Okay, so I like pasta.  A lot.  A lot more than I should.  So what, pasta is amazing!  Anyway, my parents refuse to buy fettuccine instead of the nasty whole wheat spaghetti that we have right now until we finish the whole wheat spaghetti.  However, we’re never going to finish the whole wheat spaghetti (which tastes horrible) because neither my sister nor I like it.  My sister doesn’t even eat pasta anymore, which is kind of sad.  I think she’s missing out.  Anyway, for some reason, we had lasagna sheets that weren’t whole wheat or whole grain or whole anything.  SO I decided to eat that instead.  But I didn’t want to make lasagna because I don’t have the ingredients for that, nor do I have the patience to wait for my pasta to bake.  So I cooked the lasagna like normal pasta, and then I cut it up into small pieces in a bed of tomato sauce and grated parmesan cheese.  It’s really amazing, and I just ate seven lasagna sheets mixed with like a third of a cup of tomato sauce.  It was ridiculously amazing, even though right now I’m too full to walk.

I wonder if we have any ice cream…
